Water of Life Fellowship Church is blessed to have a leader who is truly dedicated to Christ and accomplishing His will.

Gregory A. Springer

Senior Pastor

Gregory Antonio Springer, born July 29, 1961 in Chattanooga, Tennessee to his parents, Evangelist Willie B. and Bertha Springer. He is the 3rd of 7 children (5 brothers and 1 sister). Pastor Greg’s family moved to Detroit in July of 1967.

In 1976, his father, Evangelist W.B. Springer, began St. Jude C.O.G.I.C., where he was a member. The church was later placed in Miracle District under Supt. Lemuel Austin of The Whole Truth C.O.G.I.C.

Later, Evangelist Springer and his family then joined Whole Truth. Pastor Greg became greatly involved in the church, playing the bass guitar, singing in the choirs, and serving as Director of the Youth Choir.

It was at Whole Truth where Pastor Greg met his wife, Cheryl Lynn Moore. They married on October 17, 1981, and the Lord blessed them with 3 lovely daughters: Candice, Stephanie, & Danielle.

It was at Whole Truth that Pastor Greg reclaimed his salvation and received the baptism of the Holy Ghost. He was then appointed and ordained as a Deacon under Pastor Ernie M. McCutchen, Sr.

In the fall of 1991, Pastor Greg felt the unction of the Holy Ghost and the call to the ministry. He preached his trial sermon on December 29, 1991 at Whole Truth. Soon after, he was elevated to the office of Youth Pastor where he served for 13 years. He was ordained as an Elder in August of 1997 by Bishop P.A. Brooks. He also served in various capacities in the church, such as Adult Choir Vice-President, Sunday School Adult Class teacher, Church Board Member, and Bus Driver. He also has served in other areas such as Miracle District YPWW President and Northeast State Jurisdiction YPWW Youth Coordinator.

In late 2001, the Lord began to speak to Pastor Greg more concerning his ministry. As the Holy Ghost ministered to his heart to give him direction and definition for his ministry, the Lord gave him the scripture, St. John 7:37-38, “ if any man thirst, let him come unto me and drink…he that believeth on me, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.” The Lord then birthed in his spirit the name for his ministry “Living Water Ministries”.

In early 2005, the Lord called upon Pastor Greg to leave his father’s house. It was then, that the Holy Ghost spoke and led him and his family to join Walker Memorial C.O.G.I.C. to briefly serve and train under his father-in-law Pastor James E. Moore Sr. where he faithfully served as Administrative Assistant to the Pastor.

Then, in January 15, 2006, Pastor Greg was led to open New Living Water Ministries C.O.G.I.C. located in on West McNichols in Detroit.

Sadly, on July 5, 2008 the Lord called Pastor Moore home. And in August of 2008, Bishop P.A. Brooks appointed Pastor Greg as Minister-in-Charge, and his congregation joined him to serve at Walker Memorial.

In February of 2013, the Lord laid it upon Pastor Greg’s heart to move the church in a new direction. And the name of the church was then changed from Walker Memorial C.O.G.I.C., to what is now known as “WATER OF LIFE FELLOWSHIP C.O.G.I.C. where he continues to serve faithfully, and building upon the foundation that was laid before him, while carrying forth the ministry the Lord has placed upon his heart.
